Carpathian Escapes was created to allow the world to discover a most beautiful part of Europe, a hidden secret, the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania.
Carpathian Escapes is a fully bonded travel agency that was funded with an EU grant obtained by local enthusiasts who have joined together to provide various trips for those seeking an active holiday with breathtaking sights whilst surrounded by the peace and tranquility rarely found today. Guided by the volunteers from the mountain rescue team the Escapes daily programs offer snow mobile trails, hiking routes and ski touring to challenge all levels. These Escapes take you back in time to where the local people still live as they have for the past fifty years. Accommodation has been selected to allow you to experience the life there, in essence an Escape from the modern day world and stresses of the western lifestyle.

Canyoning Tourist program
Meeting with the guide on site (by prior arrangement).   Program description: Canyoning basically means walking through rock gorges, with proper protective clothing: neoprene clothing and socks (this keeps the body warm), any shoe can be used which is so good quality that after soaking it does not fall apart, and a helmet. Anyone can take part in these tours (it doesn’t matter if you can't swim). We provide the tour guide (who is a canyoning tour guide and cave rescuer), individual equipment (neoprene clothing, socks, helmet), team equipment (dry backpack to keep clothes and small things e.g. cameras, phones, car keys dry, ropes and carabiners). Footwear is not provided, everyone should bring it. The Lapos (flat) Strait is the valley of the Lapos Stream, which separates the Kupás and Bardócz Mountains, in the area of the Bicaz Gorge-Hășmaș/Nagyhagymás National Park. The road takes approx. 45-60 minutes but also accessible by car (in this case someone has to bring the car back). Walk through the strait takes 2-3 hours. It is not very popular because in summer it often dries out completely depending on the weather.   Useful information: You can only apply for our canyon tours from spring to late autumn, the warmest summer days are most ideal as the mountain streams in our area are all very cold without exception. We provide a one-time hearty, varied snack. Before each tour, the guest fills out a declaration of their own responsibility and we also recommend accident insurance, even though we have never had an accident before (and we want to preserve this tradition). Program location: Harghita and Neamt counties Destination: Bicaz Gorge-Hășmaș National Park Program price: min. 5, max. 100 RON / person for 8 people

Thanks to the support of the Harghita County Council, at the village of Corbu/Gyergyóholló has completed the installation of an approximately 150-meter ironed climbing trail, including a 15-meter suspension bridge and a vertical section with rungs of 15 meters. As a result of the activity of Eco Climb Association, a spectacular high-mountain route, category D and E, completes the 2018 Falco Peregrinus trail, contributing to an area where mountain and climbing enthusiasts find varied routes, right to their preferences and physical fitness. 47°01'12.7"N 25°42'00.7"E Photo: facebook.com/Via ferrata Piatra Șoimilor
