The Ethnographic Museum Plăieșii de Jos

Its equipment reflects the 19th century living conditions. The material of the country house was collected by Irén Balázs, a retired teacher. Built in the early 1800s, the house has three rooms: a clean room, a large house, a dwelling house and a pantry. The clean room is what the locals call the Great House, which was used for weddings and funerals. The sheets and clothes were kept here as well. They spent their daily lives in the dwelling house, where the loom was. The chamber was used to store food. It can be visited at any time of the year.

Along the highway between Miercurea Ciuc and Odorheiu Secuiesc, at Satu Mare 214 can be found a nicely designed country house. The property was acquired in 2000 with the help of enthusiastic supporters. After completing the most necessary repairs, the folk museum opened its doors to those interested in 2004. The folk museum is a traditional village house that blends in harmoniously with the surrounding scene. The house of the Szekler man was made of wood and harrow wood. This explains the saying that the Szekler man does not build his house, he stacks it. And his gate? He raises that.  In its proportions and appearance, it does not impress, it does not show off, it does not speak to a rich man. With regard to his age, he already draws the attention of ethnographers to his proportions. The asymmetric façade windows and the furnace in the eaves, the very narrow chamber opening from the first house and the closed eaves suggest that this is an old house. There is no master beam that could identify the time of construction. During the repairs, a single tile with the year was found. The tile reads: "Bart Julianna Nagy samuelné Baroti Forestland 1887 BeoktoBer Ágnes Ballo 1887".  The original house was built sometime around the 19th century. century.

The Folk Museum of Bisericani, located next to the Árpád-era church, opened in May 1977 as a result of the collecting work of Dénes Balázsi teacher. Its creation was also supported by renowned professionals such as István Molnár, Dénes Kovács or Pál János. The one-row szeklergate at the entrance of the folk museum is dated July 22, 1848, and it was claimed by Ferenc László. The Szekler House dates back to the 1850s. The three-part house consists of a large house (room), a small house (clean room), a chamber and a slate eaves. The collection contains nearly seven hundred items and presents the ethnographic traditions of the Upper Nyikó River. The main house exhibits typical pieces of furniture and furnishings in the area. A Szekler family once lived here: it served as both a living room and a bedroom. In the small house, in the clean room, the guests were welcomed and the girl's dowry were stored, while the chamber housed various work tools and storage.

Inside the museum you can see the image of a traditional farm, where objects that were part of the everyday life of simple people are kept: furniture, pictures, sewing machines, clothing, footwear, clay pots, wooden articles, shawls, weavers , hemp carpets, hemp combs, and others.  These objects delight the visitor with the charm of the past, reminiscent of a glow from the life of the former Szekler village.  The museum itself is a historical building, part of the list of historical monuments, it was built in 1883. Visiting program: by prior arrangement or at the Cozmeni Tourist Office, from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 16:00.

The Traditional Folk House in Lunca de Jos was inaugurated on September 25, 2010 in Gyimesközéplok. The house was built in 1934. It gave place for a midwifery, a dental office, a dentistry, a mixed shop and a pub in the old times. Today it preserves the values of the Csángó tradition.

The "House of Bygone Times" has a tradition-preserved exhibition, which, by virtue of its informative nature, can serve a useful purpose for future generations. The private museum opened on July 4, 2014 by Árpád László and his wife, Ildikó. The couple did nothing but preserve the legacy of their grandparents. Beside the house, which is much older than one hundred and fifty, there is a barn, transformed into an exhibition space, preserving the memory of times gone by.

Our traditional House Museum opened its doors on the 29 th of June, 2019.  The formal opening was celebrated with a loud traditional dowry ceremony with folk dance and music to which assisted the whole village, just like at those times.  The house has been restored athentically and serves as a place of exhibition of the local ethnografic collection.  Visiting time: Tuesday, Thursday: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM 

Lupeni is the native village of the great writer of the Szeklers, Tamási Áron. The village follows the Nicăului de Sus valley, on the two banks of the river, at the altitude of 540-580 m. The memorial house, the monument dedicated to the writer, as well as the writer's grave are there. The memorial house and birthplace of the writer is an old building, dating back over 150 years. It was built of carved wood, and the roof was made of shingles. Tamási Áron was born in this house on 19 September 1897. Inaugurated on 24 September 1972, the memorial house displays furniture, personal objects, manuscripts, works, letters, and photographs of the writer. The tomb of the famous writer is on the Western edge of the village, behind the Roman Catholic church and the cemetery, in a beautiful park full of flowers. The Tamási Monument - the work of the sculptor Szervátiusz Jenő and his son, Tibor (1972-1974), is carved from a rock 3 meters high, 1 m wide, weighing 8 tons, brought here from Mount Harghita. The monument features characters from Tamási's works.

The Ethnographic Museum in Corund owns a collection of ethnographic and local history objects. Beginning with 1946, Molnos Peti Fábián and Tótfalvi Erdész Antal started a collection of artisanal objects in this commune.
