Snowshoeing is the easiest way to immerse yourself in winter nature and reach remote places even in deep snow. We will take you to some of our favourite peaceful mountain top through fragrant pine forests.
Our tours are fully guided and there are variety of trails to suit all ages and abilities. We’ll bring your snowshoes, gaiters and ski poles, just get your layered clothing and boots and we are ready to go!

Snowshoe tours
Join us for our two days snowshoe trip in the Bicaz-Hasmas National Park, after which you will enjoy a short off-road trip to the famous Red Lake. Our trip will get you into breathtaking backcountry areas and feature remarkable scenic views, exciting terrain, and the opportunity to see areas of the mountain that few winter visitors get to experience. Accommodation and food will be provided by the Lonely Stone rest-house. From the National Park 4-seated and heated Suzuky Jimnies will take you thorugh the forest to Red Lake.

Snowshoeing offers you a way to see Transylvania and the Eastern Carpathians from a different perspective while enjoying outdoor winter fun and low-impact exercise. Gear up in layered clothing suitable for below-zero temperatures and make your way to the meeting point at the foot of the Harghita Mountains, in Izvoare village. Your guide will fit you with snowshoes and hiking poles that will help you travel across the icy and snowy terrain and provide a safety briefing. This tour is an activity the whole family will enjoy, as prior experience in snowshoeing is not necessary. Once you’re ready, strap on your snowshoes and follow your guide along quiet trails, experiencing the Harghita Mountains in its winter beauty. Get incredible views of snow-covered mountains and meadows as you hike, and have plenty of opportunities to stop for photos and rest breaks when you can soak in the beautiful surroundings and enjoy the silence. With luck, you’ll even spot wildlife such as hares, foxes or deer. Your guide will make sure that you will be walking at a comfortable pace and the length of the trip can be adjusted accordingly. This snowshoe tour in the Harghita Mountains will allow you to get away from the crowds and explore a Carpathian winter wonderland. Joining this trip means being prepared for any kind of weather. High alpine weather can be extreme and may be completely different than in town. You must have winter boots or hiking boots, winter coat and pants, warm hat and warm gloves. Ski goggles recommended.

Challenge yourself with a full day snowshoeing tour to the top of the 1556 m high Naskalat Mountain. This 20 km long trail with 500 m elevation gain is quite demanding, but the spectacular view of the Ciuc Mountains winter wilderness and the local legends and stories linked to the place will make it worth it.

Guided by the volunteers from the mountain rescue team the Escapes daily programs offer snow mobile trails, hiking routes and ski touring to challenge all levels. These Escapes take you back in time to where the local people still live as they have for the past fifty years. Accommodation has been selected to allow you to experience the life there, in essence an Escape from the modern day world and stresses of the western lifestyle.

Ski and snowboard instruction
Skiing/snowboarding is a complex form of movement. With qualified help you can save a lot of time and energy during the learning process. Our instructors help you master the basics of skiing/snowboarding, correct your technique or develope your knowledge, while you are having a great time.
Our main working point is the Harghita Madaras, but we are open to arrange courses in the surroundings, as well.
