Sopárkút Guesthouse is situated in a beautiful clearing, 14 km from Odorheiu Secuiesc and 31 km from Miercurea Ciuc, in Homorod Băi, on the Cekend Plateau. In this idyllic atmosphere we are welcomed by Szőcs Elek, the host of the guesthouse and of the horse riding center. The horses of the Furioso and Lipitans are kept on the pasture 365 days of the year. According to Szőcs Elek, in winter they prefer the food under the snow to dried fodder. Zsigmond Malom Inn is located in Mădăraş Ciuc village, at the foot of Harghita mountains, on an island formed by Olt and Madicsa rivers. The property has three hectares and provides an ideal place for our guests to rest and enjoy the beauties of nature, in every season of the year. The three upgraded peasant houses can accommodate 22 people in 11 double rooms with bathroom and traditional painted furniture. During the tour we roam in Transylvania, near the mountains surrounding the village of Sândominic/Csíkszentdomokos, where there is a very nice view of the Bicaz Gorge-Hășmaș  National Park, the Ciuc/Csíki Mountains and the Harghita Mountains. The trip starts from Sândominic/Csíkszentdomokos, with one or two carts, depending on the number of people. The purpose of the tour is for families and groups of friends to roam together in nature, and experience the beauties of equestrian hiking. At lunchtime, we will visit a sheepfold, where guests can get an insight into the lives of the shepherds living on the mountain, taste cheese and orda (Hungarian name of urdă, made from whey of sheep, goat or cow milk). Glide through the fairytale winter landscape of the Gyimes hills in a horse-drawn sleigh and enjoy a wide view of the gorgeous scenery around! Our path for the sleigh ride goes through the forests and hills of the Gyimes Valley and none of those places visited during the tour are accessible by car, so it’s just you, horses and snow. There are some slower bits where you can enjoy the views and also some faster ones, where horses gallop and you need to hold tight to not to fall off the sledges on the turns. It’s so much fun! Our horses are local breds, used to mountain terrain, very friendly and patient, and look very cute. We also organize rides in the night which makes the experience really special. Sólyom Major, a tourist center (Ecovillage), aims to create a place for visitors that brings tranquility and takes us out of the everyday rat race. We wanted to establish a true tourist oasis, an Ecovillage, in the heart of Transylvania, where not only our family but also anyone who shares similar values can come. Mă numesc Baczoni Szilveszter, visătorul ”Baczkalandok”. Locuiesc în Șoimeni-Ciuc, un sat micuț de aproape 500 de locuitori, aici m-am născut și am crescut alături de părinții și bunicii. Plecând la drum cu aceste cunoștințe nu doar ca am reușit să văd cele mai frumoase locuri din zonă, dar am dobândit și dragul de a le arăta mai departe. Scopul meu principal este că vizitatorii noștri să vină ca niște srăini și să plece ca niște prietenii. Una din misiunile mele este de a-i convinge pe vizitatorii să iasă din zona lor de confort, să se elibereze din rutina cotidiană și să se conecteze cu natura. Pentru că experiența să fie magică și amintirea să se dovedească de neuitat le punem la dispoziție vizitatorilor noștri o aventură frumoasă cu caii.

Vă invităm la o plimbare cu căruţe trasă de cai în satul medieval din secolul al XIII-lea Lăzăreşti şi prin pădurile sălbatice din Ținutul Vulcanilor, în aproprierea lacului Sfânta Ana. În timpul excursiei vom face o călătorie în timp (apr. 14 km dus-întors) pe urmele mistreţilor şi urşilor.  Ne oprim pe muntele Hegyesteto, unde ne asteaptă o privelişte fermecătoare asupra bazinul Ciucului. We are starting our tour at Valea lui Pavel/Pálpataka (7 km from Corund/Korond), which is called Corund/Korond Hill by the locals because it is 1000 metres above sea level. The horse-drawn carriage ride takes you through a fairytale landscape, forests and fields. You will get to know everyday life in the village: cheese making, bread baking, farming, animal keeping. We will taste artisanal cheeses at a cheese-making family and then enjoy a lunch in the pine woods, with a selection of traditional local dishes and drinks. Afterwards, we will head to Fântâna Brazilor/Fenyőkút, the peat bog and visitor trail, where you can find blueberries, thousand-year-old trees and insectivorous plants, among other things.
