The role of rheumatology, physiotherapy and therapeutic exercise in the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal complaints

Do you suffer from back, lower back or knee pain? Are your joints stiffer, do you find it harder to get moving in the morning, or have everyday activities become more physically demanding?

Musculoskeletal complaints may become more common with age, but there is much we can do to preserve our mobility, independence and active lifestyle for as long as possible.

In connection with the International Day of Older Persons, the next event in the Mindful Harghita, Healthy Future! programme in the Ciuc area is primarily aimed at older adults.

With the help of two specialists, we will discuss common joint and spinal complaints, their prevention and treatment options, and how physiotherapy and properly performed therapeutic exercises can improve quality of life in everyday situations.

When is pain considered a normal age-related change, and when should you seek medical advice? What may cause persistent back, lower back, knee or other joint pain? What treatment and physiotherapy options are available, and how can deterioration be prevented?

Sarolta Sándor – Physiotherapist

How can appropriate physical activity and therapeutic exercises help relieve pain, maintain joint mobility and make everyday movements safer? What simple daily habits can help protect the health of our spine and joints?
