About

Supporting highly talented young people is a vital public interest that determines the competitiveness of a community. Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) offers free, useful trainings that complement school studies, unique talent management for enthusiastic young people in 9 training centers across Transylvania: Arad (Arad), Csíkszereda (Miercurea Ciuc), Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca), Marosvásárhely (Târgu Mureș), Nagyvárad (Oradea), Sepsiszentgyörgy (Sfântu Gheorghe), Székelyudvarhely (Odorheiu Secuiesc), Szatmárnémeti (Satu Mare) and Veresszék.

MCC's activities in Transylvania bring together more than 2000 students in 8 locations and 4 educational programs. In the academic year 2023/2024, the Young Talent Program had 545 students, the High School Program had 1406 members, the University Program had 114 students and 19 young people studied in the Transylvanian School of Politics.

The organisation started its activity in 1996 with only a few students, but from the 2000s onwards the training possibilities gradually expanded and it has been present in several places outside Hungary, in the Carpathian Basin. Today it offers training opportunities for all ages: primary school, secondary school, university and beyond. The Transylvanian High School Program was launched in 2013 in Cluj-Napoca and Odorheiu Secuiesc, the Kolozsvár/ Cluj University Program started in 2018, and the Primary School Program in 2020, teaching financial awareness, health and conflict management and other skills from the fifth grade onwards. The organisation's Transylvanian administrative centre is in Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca), the hometown of King Matthias.

The Collegium supports all young people, regardless of their financial, social and cultural background, who are curious about the world, want to be educated and informed, and in the long run want to become useful members of society in their local communities, among Hungarians in Transylvania and in the wider Carpathian Basin.

The MCC supports young people who want to useful in their local communities, who feel responsibility for their environment, so that they can develop their talents and use them for the benefit of themselves and, in the long run, for the benefit of society. MCC is neither a competitor nor an alternative to public educational institutions, it is independent of them, but its courses help students to perform better in the traditional educational system. We believe in the importance of learning from the best teachers, so that young people can become open to the world, familiar with international processes, and at the same time represent values and attitudes that are forward-looking for the future of the Hungarian people of the Carpathian Basin and for the future of Europe as a whole.
