Join the Lonely Stone Kennel sleddogs for sledding trips, unique experiences in Hășmaș mountains! Greenland Dogs and Alaskan Malamute Dogs can give you sled trips or cart (four-wheel) rides through the spruce and birch forest - a sensational, safe and comfortable way to experience rides with a canine team pulled by force, speed, vigor and balance, special qualities of our champion dogs in sprint competitions and beauty shows. OFFERS: • Short tour: • 1.5 km on flat wooded terrain;  • duration: 10 - 15 minutes;  • it is organized for 2 - 10 people. • Long tour:  • 10 km (round trip) on a forest road;  • duration of at least 1 hour, with rest breaks;  • it is organized for 2 people. CONDITIONS: • dog sled walks are organized depending on the weather, the route and related safety conditions - in winter, when the snow cover is optimal, and in the other seasons in cool weather (morning and evening), on dry ground, • behind the team, on the soles of the sled, the musher will sit/drive the team (the dog team is not rented); • 1-2 adults or 1 adult + 1 child or 2 children can sit on the sled/cart; • our dogs are friendly, sociable - these being characteristics of the breed, but they also have enough personality and their own thinking to not do anything and everything that is asked of them, and this is a right that we respect; • the health and well-being of our dogs have priority; our dogs are pampered and protected, and will not be exploited for any reason (they are not engines, they are not toys, they are not mascots); • we prefer to walk people who love dogs and their company and who respect this effort; • dog sled walks can only take place with appointments and telephone reservations (at least 3 days before the agreed date). During this tour you will be driving your own dogsled with team of 2-4 huskies and taking care of and working with your team during the tour is very much part of the experience. As you arrive to one of the few kennels operating in the Eastern Carpathians, you will be welcomed by your guide who will explain the basics of mushing. Here you learn how to handle the sled and dogs, then head out on a 15-20 km ride to explore winter wilderness of the Eastern Carpathians. Slicing through cold, fresh air underneath crisp blue skies with your sled pulled by a pack of eager huskies is a hugely exhilarating experience.

The Siberian Husky is a mid-sized, dense-coat working dog breed originated in North-Eastern Siberia.  It's easily recognisable due to its odourless thick fur and the triangular ears, usually grey or silver coloured. Its body is fairly dense. According to its initial purpose, they are quite exceptional while under harness with light load at moderate speeds, they can travel long distances. Their eyes give the impression of them being quite friendly and they are indeed a great company; their breeders greatly appreciate them. At the moment, our Husky team is made out of 46 dogs and with their help we're wandering throughout the day, mostly in the Harghita mountains. During these tours, not only we have the chance to experience the snowy mountains, but we also get to experience the flock, their behaviour and daily routine. We offer three sledding options:   Short tours: Group sledding over a 2 km easy trail, seated in the sled or standing in front of the musher, with a draught of 8-10 dogs, approx. 15 minutes. Price: • € 30/person up to 39 kg • € 40/person, from 40 to 79 kg • € 50/person, from 80 to 99 kg • € 60/person, from 100 to 119 kg • € 80/person, over 120 kg  (under unsuitable snow conditions, i.e. warm weather, soft snow, we are not able to offer sledding for overweight persons) (Suitable for groups of 10 or more) Medium length tours:  Group sledding over an 8-10km moderate trail, seated in the sled or standing in front of the musher, with a draught of 8-10 dogs, approx. 90 minutes. Price: • € 130/person up to 39 kg • € 160/person, from 40 to 79 kg • € 180/person, from 80 to 99 kg • € 200/person, from 100 to 119 kg • € 250/person, over 120 kg  (under unsuitable snow conditions, i.e. warm weather, soft snow, we are not able to offer sledding for overweight persons) (Suitable for groups of 2 or more) Long tours: Sledding over a 20-25km difficult trail with a draught of 8-10 dogs, full day experience, lunch included.
