Organized by the Gheorgheni Hunting and Sport Fishing Association
Location: Western side of Red Lake, towards Gheorgheni/Gheorgheni, at the usual spot (in front of the trout farm).
Entry fee: 100 RON/person, including lake fee, hot lunch, mulled wine, tea, and prizes.
Prizes (by total catch weight):
- Top 3 competitors over 18
- Top 3 competitors under 18
- Biggest fish caught

09:00–10:00 – Taking positions, preparation
10:00–14:00 – Fishing
From 14:00 – Weighing, lunch, award ceremony

Rules:
- Max. two rods per person, one hook per rod, allowed for both peaceful and predatory fish.
- Fish must be kept alive until weighing. Trout will be weighed immediately and must be released.
- Pike and perch may be kept.
- Minimum 5 meters between competitors.
- Team fishing results in disqualification.
Participants access the frozen lake at their own risk and must follow all ice safety regulations.
Registration: by phone (+40 745 019 184), in the “Gyergyoi Horgasz” Facebook group, or on-site between 08:00–09:00 on the day of the event.
