TöRTFEHÉR (HU)

“Detachment is not when you are fine without the other.

TöRTFEHÉR portrays, with humor, tension, and relentless precision, a family’s Christmas Eve, where behind the festive idyll lie generations of silence, grievances, and, above all, the longing for love. It is the story of a family who, on one day of the year, in every town, street, block, and apartment, decorates its own Christmas tree, while deep down each participant yearns only to be seen, understood, and loved. Yet, this does not prevent them from tearing each other apart from time to time. Here, peace always arrives just one moment too late.

A performance about the illusion of harmony and the tensions of generational patterns hidden beneath it, confronting us with the truth that detachment and attachment are two sides of the same coin.

The script is based on research, interviews with parents and children, as well as the improvisations of the actors.

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office of the House of Arts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 10:00–14:00, on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 14:00–18:00, and also one hour before the performances.
