Stephen, the King – The Concert at Șumuleu Ciuc Saddle

The Consulate General of Hungary in Miercurea Ciuc / Csíkszereda is committed to preserving and promoting cultural and musical heritage and supporting young folk and classical music talents.

To celebrate Hungary’s founding and King Saint Stephen, we are proud to present a concert version of the iconic rock opera István, a király / Stephen, the King at the Csíksomlyó/Șumuleu Ciuc Saddle, in cooperation with the Municipality of Miercurea Ciuc and the Harghita County Council.

In 2025 – 42 years after its Hungarian premiere – this legendary work will be performed by award-winning artists Pál Feke (King Stephen) and Attila Dolhai (Koppány) in a spectacular large-scale production featuring the Crescendo Music Orchestra, stunning visuals, and special effects.

Let us celebrate together the legacy of King Saint Stephen and fill the Csíksomlyó Saddle once again!
