They Did Not Die in Vain – 1956–2026

During the days of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, flowers, candles and handwritten messages were placed on the pavements of Budapest. One message read: “We promise that you did not die in vain!”

Seventy years later, we honour the participants, heroes and victims of the 1956 Revolution in the spirit of these words.

On October 22, the community of Sânsimion invites everyone to the opening of the exhibition Faces of Freedom, featuring works submitted in response to an open call, followed by the musical and historical programme You Did Not Die in Vain.

The Sânsimion Youth Concert Wind Orchestra will also perform.

We thank the Sânsimion Local Council for its support!

This project is supported by the National Cultural Fund of Hungary (NKA).
