Halasági-Csibi Herb Garden | OPEN FARM WEEKEND
About
The Halasági Csibi herbal family manufactory in Jolotca/Orotva, set in the picturesque surroundings of the Gheorgheni Mountains, welcomes visitors who would like to discover Transylvania’s rich herbal traditions and the world of traditional herbal knowledge. The family has been involved in gathering, cultivating, and processing medicinal plants for generations, combining folk traditions with modern expertise.
During the program, visitors can take part in a special medicinal and aromatic herb presentation. Guests are welcomed with a tasting of herbal teas made from local plants, followed by an introduction to the family’s and community’s daily activities. During the guided walk along the educational trail and through the herb gardens, participants can learn about native and cultivated medicinal and aromatic plants, as well as their collection methods, botanical characteristics, and traditional uses.
As part of the visit, participants can prepare herbal tea together from freshly gathered plants while learning traditional tea-making techniques. At the end of the program, each visitor may choose a package of tea or spices to take home, and locally made herbal products are also available for purchase.
Program duration: 2–3 hours
Participation fee: 40 RON/person, including herbal tea tasting, guided garden tour, and one package of tea or spices as a gift.
