Athlete of the Year Gala

At the 5th Athlete of the Year Gala, we will honor Miercurea Ciuc/Csíkszereda athletes and their coaches for outstanding performances achieved in the past year. The event will take place on March 4 at 5 PM at Csíki Cinema.

The awards follow last year’s successful model: instead of professional and audience awards, prizes are granted by sport disciplines and by a sports committee. Clubs nominate the best athletes in each category, while the committee ranks nominees based on results. The top three in committee categories receive awards.

Eligible results include top 3 placements at national championships and achievements at Balkan, European and World Championships, Universiade, European and World Cups, Olympic and Paralympic Games, Youth Olympic Games and the European Youth Olympic Festival. Clubs may submit nominations until February 23, 2026.

Awards will be presented in individual and team sport categories, recognizing senior and youth athletes, teams, and coaches. Everyone is welcome to celebrate the city’s top sports achievements.
