Borsec/Borszék, a paradise for geologists

Borsec/Borszék, a paradise for geologists

About

Route: Tourist information office – Kerekszék – Ice Cave – Bear Cave – stalactite cave – quarries – waterfalls

Program description:
Limestone tuff in Kerekszék with plant remains: maple, ash willow, goat willow, sage willow, ash alder, spruce, beech, hazelnut, blackberry), Teleki- and Széchenyi rocks, Hell's throat, caves: Ice Cave, Bear Cave, Stalactite Cave, Mineral Water Cave.
Those who are interested in geology will be taken to the talk mine next to the campsites. From here we walk to the Kerekszék, where we see the two most visited caves (Ice and Bear Cave.) With the appropriate caveman equipment and practice, we also visit the Mineral Water and Stalactite Caves. It is worth visiting the quarries: limestone and travertine (limestone tuff). We also have two waterfalls worth seeing: one is on the Kupás Stream, the other is under the Viaduct. I feel that more and more people are interested in geotourism.
